Upcoming Changes to Privacy Regulations… are you ready for the changes?

Date / Time: TBD

The mobile sector in Canada saw revenues drop almost a billion dollars year over year through the pandemic, decreasing for the first time since the CRTC has been publishing the Communications Market Report. How did the industry manage to protect customers, grow the 5G network and improve the bottom line?

Please join us for an insightful look at how some of largest telecommunications companies in Canada are handling their internal and external collection processes during this pandemic.

We will hear directly from senior industry insiders on how things have changed and where they think it is going!

According to information technology research and consultancy company Gartner by next year, 65% of the world’s population will have its personal data covered under modern privacy regulations. This is up 10% from 2020.

The next webinar from the CAGT is going to raise awareness about the fact new privacy laws have already been introduced in some parts of Canada and other regions like Asia, Africa and the US since 2021, thereby raising new international standards. Subject matter experts will discuss what new rights individuals are being granted in relation to their personal information, and when these new laws come into full effect and associated milestones as well.

The data protection landscape is evolving dramatically with stricter guidelines around data transfers, enforcement tools that use penalty systems and antitrust concerns which are forcing organizations to evolve how data protection programs are managed and implemented.

Topics to include but not limited to:
• The emergence of new privacy regulations globally and meeting expectations
• New guidelines reshaping the landscape to fulfill compliance (transfers, deletion, protection)
• Best practices for supporting data privacy and protection laws moving forward
