Canada is in an interesting time where home prices have been on a robust up-tick and the cost to borrow money has been extremely low. While these trends have maintained for several years, industry insiders have been speculating on when/how things will change.

Sharon Castelino, Vice President, Home Financing Solutions at Scotiabank.
Sharon has spent the last 20 years in the financial services, real estate, technology and insurance sectors. With an extensive background in strategy, sales, marketing and global operations, Sharon is currently Vice President at Scotiabank Home Financing Solutions, Real Estate Secured Lending, and has held executive positions at TD Bank, Real Matters Group of Companies, CIBC and Equifax.
An alumna of McGill, York and Western University’s Richard Ivey School of Business, Sharon earned the prestigious Ivey Scholar (Top 1%) for academic achievement in the MBA program. In 2015, Sharon completed the Director’s Education Program at U of T’s Rotman School of Management and received her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. She lives in Toronto with her husband and three sons.

Bryan Jaskolka, VP and COO Canadian Mortgages Inc.


Bryan Jaskolka, has been the managing executive of the CMI Group of companies since inception in 2005.  Starting out as a mortgage brokerage, Canadian Mortgages Inc. has expanded to include now multiple additional divisions which include Canadian Lending Inc. (a direct private lender to the mortgage brokerage industry), Canadian Servicing Inc. (a licensed mortgage administrator).
The CMI Group of companies has funded in excess of $100 million dollars in private mortgages for Canadian Mortgages Inc. as well as mortgage agents from many other brokerages and networks over the years.  As a mortgage broker, Bryan has been involved with thousands of mortgage transactions, and has expertise in residential, construction and commercial financing.
Bryan is also a licensed real estate agent through Canadian Real Estate Inc., another affiliated company, and is working to complete his real estate broker’s license.
Canadian Mortgages Inc. has also expanded its offering to the credit industry to assist agencies, and corporations help their debtors arrange for reasonable financing to help them get back on track while accelerating the pace of account resolutions for our partners in the debt industry.
Today the CMI Group is comprised of 50+ staff, contractors, and agents, and continues to grow at a rapid pace.

James Hooker, VP LM Financial


James is the Vice President of Customer Relations at LM Financial. Previous positions included Director of Business Development at Home Trust where he was responsible for growing the mortgage originations book by at least 15% year after year. He has been a highly valued speaker at several regional and national conferences across the country. James knows the value of the ‘important stuff’ too, having coached baseball for the Stoney Creek Little League and basketball for Newman Youth Atom.
